Which t-shirt should I choose?

If you’ve worked with Allkits before, you know that we offer several t-shirt options, from the most affordable to the most durable. Considering your budget and the purpose of your piece, it can be difficult to choose with so many options!
It’s normal to feel tempted to choose the cheapest options, especially when you can’t see the differences between one choice and another, but don’t worry, today we’re here to help you make the right choice, as the old saying goes, “cheap ends up being more expensive”!

 1st T-shirt MC 130 KEYA (130gr – Economic Range)

This is the cheapest t-shirt, being from the economic range with a lighter fabric weight.
As you can see from the wash tests, this shirt became completely deformed and unrecognizable. The shrinkage rate was 18%, shrinking by about 11cm and expanding by 2cm. If this t-shirt fit someone who wore size M (test size), it no longer fits after washing. We can therefore consider this a one-time-use t-shirt. This t-shirt does not have side seams, which makes it unstable, resulting in the distortions you can see above. Any t-shirt without side seams will have these distortions. The lower the fabric weight, the larger and more visible the distortions will be.

2nd T-shirt MC 150 KEYA (150gr – Economic Range)

This is the second cheapest alternative, from the economic range with a medium fabric weight.
As you can see from the wash tests, although it performed better than the previous shirt, several distortions are still visible. This model also lacks side seams. It should only be used for promotional purposes and campaigns.

3rd T-shirt MC 180 KEYA (180gr – Mid-Range)

This t-shirt is within the economic price range, but it has a relatively high fabric weight compared to the average t-shirt. In terms of fabric weight, it would be considered a good quality t-shirt. We don’t consider this model a high-end one due to the lack of side seams. As you can see from the wash tests, due to its higher fabric weight, it performed much better. However, keep in mind that a t-shirt with a higher fabric weight is also a warmer t-shirt.

4th T-SHIRT DOGO PREMIUM (165gr – High-End Range)

This is one of the t-shirts that Allkits works with the most and always recommends. Although the price is higher than the previous ones, it is still very affordable and of much higher quality.
As you can see from the wash tests, due to the side seams, there is very little difference in its structure, suffering only a small shrinkage (4%), which is normal for t-shirts used in the fashion industry.

Conclusion: The fabric weight of the t-shirts should not be used as the sole comparison factor, as we can have t-shirts with high fabric weight that are of low quality. The fact that the t-shirts perform better in washes means their lifespan is much longer. By dividing the cost of the t-shirt by the number of uses, we can consider that the higher-priced models become “cheaper” over time!
In addition to this factor, we must not forget that the cost of printing is significant in the total price of a t-shirt (it usually accounts for about half).

So, unless for promotional purposes or single-use, it does not make sense to choose a lower-quality t-shirt for a difference of around 1€/unit, as it will have a very short lifespan.
